Joining the Orchestra
We are always excited to welcome new members to the orchestra. We perform three concerts each year, featuring a diverse repertoire that spans the classical works of Mozart and Haydn through to Stravinsky, Shostakovich, and local young composers.
If you play at (or are working toward) a Grade 8 standard or equivalent, and would like to join, we’d love to hear from you!

Rehearsals
The Misbourne Symphony Orchestra holds weekly rehearsals every Thursday from 8:00PM to 10:00PM during term time.
Rehearsals are held at Amersham Free Church, Woodside Road, Amersham HP6 6AJ.
MSO and Young Composers
One of MSO’s aims is to collaborate with young, local composers, giving them the invaluable opportunity to have their pieces performed in public by a full symphony orchestra. Over the years, we’ve proudly worked with the following talented composers:
Ryan Bunce – Symphony in C (a former member of MSO)
Claire Batchelor – Suite for Orchestra (orchestral premiere)
Nathen Durasamy – Enantiodromia
Nils Greenhow – Epic for Strings
Natasha Michael – Tales of a Spanish Galleon
Daniel Hogan – Rhapsody for Orchestra, a celebratory piece commissioned by the orchestra in 2012, to celebrate MSO’s 50th anniversary
