Prom in the Playing Field

MSO will be taking part in Speen Festival ‘Prom in the Playing Field’ on Sunday, September 15th 3pm-5.30pm.

We took part in the first ever Prom at Speen Festival in 2011. The weather was not kind but it was a fantastic afternoon nonetheless with the audience swathed in whatever warm, waterproof attire they could find. The cold and rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of either the audience or the players. We’re hoping for better weather this year but whatever happens we know it will be a fun and rewarding afternoon.

Entrance if FREE though there is a collection for local charities on the day. Bring the whole family to sing, dance and wave flags: I can guarantee a fine time will be had by all.

Programme includes: Walton – Orb and Sceptre; Gray – Thunderbirds March; Coates – The Dambusters March;  Gershwin – Porgy and Bess selection; and much more with, of course, your Prom favourites, Elgar Pomp and Circumstance March no.1 and Parry’s Jerusalem.
